SAMER ZAGHIR
The Stage is the Greatest Teacher
Samer Zaghir founded Drumsens in Beirut, Lebanon in 2004. His visions and teachings stemmed from understanding the vital and natural progression of playing an instrument in the lesson room, to rehearsing with other musicians and ultimately performing at live concerts. His teachings quickly showed results, sparking interests of local educators and artists while creating more opportunities for young aspiring drummers to shine in the music industry.
Today, Drumsens continues to create a community of empowered young drummers and has recently moved to Brussels, Belgium to collaborate with local artists, and share experiences and teachings with young emerging musicians.
Samer graduated from the Lebanese American University (LAU) with a Bachelor degree in Graphic Design, and with a Teaching Diploma in Music Education from the American University of Beirut. He has also completed a certification in electronic music production with Ableton live from Dubspot - New York. Samer has over 20 years of music teaching and performing experience.
He studied with luminary jazz educator Jamey Aebersold & renowned drummers Benny Grebb, Mark Guliana, Billy Martin and Steve Davis. He has performed and recorded with many local and foreign artists/bands such as Feyrouz, Ziad Rahbani, Henrik Andersen, Ricky Ford, Charles Davis, Soap Kills, and Tarek Yamani to mention a few.
