The Stage is the Greatest Teacher
I founded Drumsens Music in Beirut, Lebanon, in 2004, with a vision of creating a natural and meaningful progression in music education, from learning an instrument in the lesson room, to rehearsing with other musicians, and ultimately experiencing the excitement of performing live on stage.
Over the years, my approach to teaching quickly showed results and attracted the interest of local educators and artists. More importantly, it created opportunities for young aspiring drummers to develop their skills, gain confidence, collaborate with other musicians, and find their own place within the music industry.
Today, Drumsens continues to grow as a community of empowered young drummers. After recently moving to Brussels, Belgium, I am excited to continue this journey by collaborating with local artists and musicians and sharing my experience, knowledge, and passion with a new generation of emerging musicians.
I graduated from the Lebanese American University (LAU) with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and earned a Teaching Diploma in Music Education from the American University of Beirut (AUB). I also completed a certification in electronic music production with Ableton Live through Dubspot in New York.
I have more than 20 years of experience in music education, performing, and recording. Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege of studying with renowned jazz educators and drummers including Jamey Aebersold, Benny Greb, Mark Guiliana, Billy Martin, and Steve Davis.
I have also had the opportunity to perform and record with a diverse range of local and international artists and bands, including Fairuz, Ziad Rahbani, Henrik Andersen, Ricky Ford, Charles Davis, Soap Kills, and Tarek Yamani, among many others.
For me, teaching music has always been about more than learning technique. I believe that learning an instrument should lead to playing with others, developing your own musical voice, building confidence, and ultimately experiencing the energy and connection of performing live.
This is the philosophy behind Drumsens, and it continues to inspire everything I do as a musician and educator.
