I spent my teenage years, from around 14 to 18, learning drums with Samer. I hadn’t learned drums before, but I had extensive experience with music lessons—piano and guitar at different institutes with over 10 teachers—and I can confidently say Drumsens is unlike every other institute I’ve been to. What separates Samer from everyone else is his passion not just for drumming and teaching drums, but for teaching young people to feel the music and allow it to transform them. The performance parts of Drumsens method were some of the fondest memories I have of my teenage years. Drumsens was a space for me where I learned discipline and courage to express myself. Samer is an organized and motivated teacher, the program and approach he follows is very hands-on and introduces the student directly into the world of performance. It was always a fun time to go to practice and improve my skills. At the end of each session, we made sure to always be in line with our monthly goals. The most memorable experience with Drumsens is the performance aspect, where we practiced on pieces to perform with a band in front of a live audience. This really made me get out of my comfort zone, and Samer was there to guide me through the whole experience. I was introduced to drumming at the age of 11 through Drumsens. Although it was the first instrument I had ever played, drumming came pretty naturally to me. Because of Samer’s effective teaching methods and my passion for the drums, I was able to swiftly and gradually develop my skills. It was the loving atmosphere, along with Samer’s great passion for teaching, that made me enjoy my time with Drumsens. Samer showed me that consistency and training always pay off. To me, the most amusing part of it all was performing for live crowds with very experienced and skilled musicians. We always prepared for these live shows through rehearsals, which were also very relieving and enjoyable. I would most definitely recommend Drumsens for people of all ages, and that’s simply because of the pleasant experience I’ve had with them over the years. There is no way I would’ve become a drummer without Drumsens. Samer kept me motivated to learn a new song, to master a new exercise, or to practice a new technique.
